Our Team

Kyra Yap is an incoming Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She completed her postdoctoral research with Prof. Nitash Balsara at UC-Berkeley and earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University under the advisement of Prof. Thomas Jaramillo and Dr. Adam Nielander (SLAC). At Stanford, she was a Stanford DARE Fellow and a Chevron Energy Fellow. Outside of the lab, Kyra founded the Stanford Summit Tahoma Expeditions Program, served on the Stanford Alumni Association Board of Directors, and coached tennis at the Stanford Campus Recreation Association. She received her B.S. from Rutgers University, where she performed undergraduate research with Prof. G. Charles Dismukes and was also a member of the Rutgers NCAA D1 tennis team. Kyra was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia.
